3 YEARS OF BLOGGING: WHAT I LOVED, HATED AND LEARNED

Mucho amor,
E.

My blog turns 3!

Today, February 14th, my blog turns 3. Time goes by so fast. It's amazing how this site has changed and grown this past few years.
As a way of celebrating the birthday of my baby, I'll tell you guys what I loved, hated and learned in this 3 years. Let's get started!

Loved:

  • Being able to express myself freely. I love fashion since I can remember and being able to find a place where I can share my thoughts, opinions, outfits and whatever crosses my mind, is the best thing ever. I can let my creativity flow.
  • Finding my style. Every day I feel more comfortable in my own skin, with what I like and my wardrobe. Eventhough I know style is constantly evolving, I'm happy and so confident about my style and it's all because of my blog. Thanks to the blog I was able to discover and experiment until I reached the style that identifies me the most.
  • Growing. I grew a lot; I'm not the 16-year-old girl that was so shy about sharing her outfits. I'm a confident woman now, about myself and my opinions. I'm no longer ashamed of saying I have a blog, I don't hide it anymore; it's a part of me and I share whenever I can because that's who I am, a blogger.
Hated:
  • Not being able to save more time for my blog. This past years I've been always working and studying. Last year was my first year of college and I didn't even have time to breath. Sometimes I get frustrated, I wish I could have more time for my blog.
  • The pressure I put on myself. I tend to pressure myself so much, I make things hard for myself. Sometimes I don't realize I have to relax, and that everything is easier when I'm relaxed.
  • The frustration of not achieving my goals. I can't always reach my goals, whatever they are, number of followers or visits, posting often, posting content with a certain quality. I get so down when I don't get what I want after all the hard work, and that's just not right.
Learned:
  • Blogging is hard. Having a blog seems easy, taking pretty pictures wearing pretty outfits. But no. It's so damn hard. It takes so much hard work, you need to know about photography, editing, networking, social media, writing, design, coding and so much more. You always have to innovate and know what's in everyday. This is a hard task is this enourmous world full of excellent bloggers.
  • Not to compare myself to others. There's always going to be someone better, there will always be a better blog, with more followers, more views, better equipment, better products, better deals. That's why we don't have to compare ourselves to others. If I compare my blog with 400 followers to a 30000 followers blog, I'm gonna feel bad and I won't be able to appreciate my lovely followers. You have to know that you aren't worse or better than anyone, and that you are always enough. I always try to work my butt off and try to make my blog better everyday.
  • There's nothing better than working hard for something you love. Sometimes you get money for blogging and sometimes you don't. I don't. I love what I do, and I love to put all my effort and time into this site. I love to stay up all night editing or use my relatives as photographers. I love this and if you think that all this work for free isn't worth it, you're wrong. Blogging is the best thing that's happened to me and it's a 100% worth it.

I really hope that my blog can grow and that when it turns 4, I can still be able to do this and with all this passion and love. Thanks for being with me along the way and for reading what this random girl has to say. I wish I can share content that you love and that this community can grow everyday a little more.
Lots of love,
E.
