10 things I learned in another country

Nuevas comidas, nuevas actividades, nuevos lugares a frecuentar. Intentar cosas nuevas es sinónimo de crecer.

10 things I've learned by living 3 months in another country:

1. Even though my country has a lot of stuff I could complain about (a lot indeed!), it's always more important to me than any other country. We complain a lot here about the economy, the society, the violence, and everyone wants to leave, but Argentina is so especial, I love it.

2. Loneliness often helps. Being alone is good to make decisions, to think through stuff and to not let anyone influence your decisions.

3. A big smile and a positive attitude always help. It doesn't matter where you are, you can make good friends if you smile.

4. Distance helps you see who really cares for you. Those you really love you won't forget about you. Feelings don't change because of distance. Your friends will still be your friends, your bf/gf will still date you if they really love you and your family will always think about you.

5. You don't have to be afraid of trying new things. New meals, new activities, new places. Trying new stuff is growing.

6. Number 5 makes me tell you number 6. I learned that I will always love Argentinean food. Nothing beats our meat, our dairy, our ice cream. I learned that I love love love Argentinean food, but I tried everything there, I'm always going to try new meals.

7. I learned how to manage my money correctly. I spent 3 months in the US. Do you know how tempted I was to shop? I had to be strategic on how to spend my money to make it last the 3 months and to make sure that my luggage's weight was the right one. Let me tell you guys that I did it! I did a great job, I'm proud of myself.

8. It's so beautiful to be in a place in which no one knows who you are. You can start friendships and relationships without any prejudice. If you live in a small town you will understand exactly what I mean. When you live in a small town gossip is so common. I hate that about where I live, so I loved having the chance of going somewhere new where nobody knew me.

I hate that about where I live, so I loved having the chance of going somewhere new where nobody knew me.

10. I learned that I loveto travel. I didn't know this, even though we all think we love to travel, because it was my first time out of the country. I learned more about myself. I got to know that I like being at an airport, that I like to know new places and that I want to kee traveling my whole life.

These are somethings I've learned being away from home. I hope you've enjoyed the post!

  6. So great that while you enjoy discovering new places you are holding on to your love for your home land Argentina. Your talk about how good the food is makes me really want to try it. What is the staple food in Argentina? Number 3 is one of my favorites. It doesn't cost anything to smile instead it opens doors. I believe in it and I believe in making new friends. Great write up, I enjoyed it, :)). Have a lovely week darling.

    1. Thank you for taking the time to read my post! Food here is awesome! Our steak, we call it "asado", is the best in the world. This is a true fact, it has nothing to do with my unconditional love for meat here haha. We have great meat, great fruits and vegetables and great ice cream, but we're known for our meat.
Where are you from? What's the best food there?
      Bye <3

  11. Living in another country is kind a hard at first most especially when you don't have any family or friends with you.
When I travel to a place very unfamiliar to me to work-- i never know anybody-- seems like i'm a total stranger.
Each night you cry and feel sadden of being faraway to our loved ones.
Lucky for people who have someone to talk to during this times but the hardest part is that you don't trust people because you don't know well.
Anyways I have same scenario too when i'm new here, but afterwards all is well-- when your family joins you and found new friends :)

    Love it

    Besos... Carli
